Artists such as Hydatid, Foreign Technology, Andrew Kettle, DAS18,
Michael Norris/Fugal Quease, Bling Ting, Binaudio, I/O, Jesus for
Children, Amin and the Moonies, DJ Minster, and Gluesniffer have
created their own version of the song for the "Love You Brisbane"
Remix Project CD. The styles range from nu-breaks, dnb, ambient,
experimental, IDM, hard house, house. Some tracks have recognisable samples from the original cd and others you would not be able to pick where they came from. It's a great collection of modern versions of the eighties' song and highlights the range of styles of music coming out of Brisbane in 2002. Originally released by project:records [AliaK]. Launched at the Straight Out of Brisbane Festival 23rd November, 2002. 100 CDs were created and distributed at the festival. The CD version includes a bonus track of the original “Love You Brisbane” song/promo sung by Kim Durant and Simon Gallaher. This was a promo CD, not for sale, so please enjoy this for free. Thanks to all the amazing artists and Channel Seven for permission to remix their station promo.
